Notes:

92% of UK electric vehicle (EV) drivers regularly charge at home, based on a 2025 survey of nearly 20,000 EV drivers across nine European markets. This figure represents the share who "usually" charge at home, far exceeding the European average of 81% and highlighting the UK's strong reliance on domestic charging infrastructure.
This aligns with a September 2025 UK Department for Transport (DfT) study, which found that 90% of EV drivers have the ability to charge at home (via driveways or garages), with 76% of pure-electric vehicle (BEV) owners using a dedicated wallbox charger. Among those with home charging access, 86% charge overnight at least 1-2 times per week, confirming regular use. Earlier data, such as a 2024 Electric Vehicle Association England report, showed 81% of owners doing most or all charging at home or work, while a 2023 Zapmap survey indicated 84% have home access.
Note that while access is high, 62% of UK EV drivers also use public chargers regularly, often for longer trips, and only about 21% charge exclusively at home according to a December 2025 Zapmap survey. These trends underscore home charging as the primary method for cost savings and convenience.
